OSV - Offshore Support Vessels
Offshore Support Vessels are purpose built or converted for general offshore support activities. They have DP2 or DP3 and sufficient accommodation to charterer to support a subsea intervention project. They have no specific secondary design role although they could be used for ROV support.
Cable Lay Vessel
Cable Lay Vessels are purpose built or converted for both offshore support and offshore cable installation or repair activities.
Dive Support Vessel
OSV Dive Support Vessels are purpose built or converted for general offshore support activities, but are equipped with an integral diving system and can act as a dive support vessel in accordance with IMO and IMCA rules and guidelines.

Pipe Lay Vessel
Pipe Lay Vessels are purpose built or converted for major offshore construction activities and also have Reel-lay or I-lay equipment installed.
ROV Support Vessel.
ROV Support Vessels meet the definition of OSV, but have some degree of modification to facilitate ROV support activities, or who’s primary roles is clearly that of an ROV support vessel.

Accommodation Vessel.
OSV / Accommodation Vessels are purpose built or converted for offshore accommodation support. Could convert to an OSV or permutations thereof.
Well Intervention
OSV Well Intervention Vessels are purpose built or converted for general offshore support activities, but have additional features added, including a moonpool and well intervention equipment handling tower.
Utility / Work Vessel
Offshore Work Vessels are offshore support vessels that are self powered, and are positioned by DP1 or less, or via a mooring system.
Well Stimulation Vessel
OSV Well Stimulation Vessels are purpose built or converted for general offshore support activities, but have additional features added, including well stimulation equipment.
